  1. Watercrew specialises exclusively in the Australian marine industry only, ensuring we directly address the unique needs of this thriving industry.

  2. Watercrew is not a traditional recruitment agency; we do not get involved in the interviewing or screening process. Our system has been designed to put job seekers and employers in direct contact with each other, eliminating the need for middle-man which attracts additional agency fees.

Put simply, a job seeker registers and creates their online personal profile allowing them to outline a comprehensive summary of their qualifications, skills and experience. Employers place job advertisements outlining the exact criteria of the job, and the Watercrew system automatically sends any suitable candidates a 'new job alert' via email. The job seeker can then choose to 'apply for' or ignore the job. If they apply, the employers are given access to their online profile and they can then choose to interview, short list or decline their application (all online!).

  3. Watercrew services ALL jobs in the marine industry, not just water-based jobs. Whether you are looking for a land-based administrative position with a yacht charter company, a dive instructor position on the Great Barrier Reef or a Skipper's job with a luxurious superyacht, Watercrew caters for the full range.

  4. Watercrew can help ALL Australian marine businesses looking for staff, not just boating operators. We can find jobs for companies across a range of specialities including surfing, diving, marinas, chandleries, retailers, yacht clubs, surveyors and boat builders, as well as private and commercial vessels plus more!

  5. With Watercrew, you can find jobs suiting all levels of experience from those that do not require formal qualifications right through to highly qualified jobs.

  6. Watercrew has a unique Online Job Match Function. Using a percentage point scale, Watercrew matches job seekers to the most suitable jobs available, based on their qualifications, skills and experience.

The higher the job match score, the better fit job seekers are for the position. This means we only send you jobs or candidates that really suit you or your business, saving both parties valuable time, money and energy!

  7. Watercrew is a privately owned business run by people who have many years experience across a diverse range of occupations in the Australian and International marine industry.

  8. Watercrew is also a central hub for marine industry Training Centres, news and information.

  • Once you have created your Online Profile, you will automatically be emailed any job opportunities that match your qualifications, skills, experience and goals.
  • Watercrew's unique Online Job Matching function will also give you a percentage rating of your suitability for these particular jobs.
  • You can choose to directly apply for any of these jobs or delete them from your shortlist.
  • You can also upload resumes and photos to your Profile to enhance your chance of success in landing your dream job.
  • You can change your profile at any time and deactivate your account whenever you like.
  • You can also upload your Employment History and Referees along with your Career Goals and Personal Summary. This saves you time and money when applying for jobs as all your information is at your fingertips!

Employers upload job vacancies online. Using the same 'tick box' system job seekers use when they register, the employers outline what "Job Type" their vacancy fits into and also what "Skills" are required to fill the position.

Watercrew's unique Online Job Match Function then springs into action and if your qualifications, skills and/or experience match the job, you will be sent an email inviting you to view the job details online. You are in total control, you can then decide whether you wish to Apply or Ignore the job opportunity. This system protects your privacy when job hunting through Watercrew.
