Gutter Cleaning — Beach Avenue, Elwood

The problem
Gutter guard changes this job rather than removing it. Fine material still works through the mesh, and once it settles underneath there is no clearing it from above — the guard has to come off. The source here is the roof itself: the terracotta tiles are heavily colonised by lichen, which sheds continuously.
What we did
The guard was lifted in sections, the run vacuumed clear of moss, humus and lichen, then refitted along the full 90 metres. Refitting is worth doing slowly: a guard put back proud of the gutter lip lifts in wind and lets in more than it keeps out. Ninety metres with one technician is why this ran past three hours.
