Window, Pool Glass and Skylight Cleaning — Hobart Street, Bentleigh

A window is seen from one side at a time. Pool fencing is seen from both at once, at eye level, in full sun — nowhere for a missed streak to hide. It also collects what a window never does: splash-out dries on it and leaves mineral spotting, and sunscreen leaves a film that water spreads rather than lifts.

The fencing was worked from both faces in the same pass, so nothing was left showing from the pool side, and the spigots and bottom edge were done by hand, where splash dries and the crust builds. Mineral spotting had to be dissolved, not wiped. The skylights were reached with extension poles rather than putting anyone on the roof; getting to them was the whole difficulty.
