Colonial-style windows break each opening into many small panes separated by glazing bars. Dust and rain residue collect along the edges of every pane and in the corners where the bars meet the glass, and standard wide-blade technique cannot reach them. Left between seasonal cleans, that build-up dries into streaks along the bar lines, so the glass looks dull even after the centre of each pane has been wiped.

Each pane was worked individually with narrow tools sized to the glazing bars, rather than washing the opening as one sheet and dragging dirt into the corners. Edges and bar junctions were detailed by hand so no water sat against the timber, which would mark the paint and leave run lines down the glass as it dried.
